Ndokwa Ladies League

Ndokwa Ladies League, a voluntary association was founded by 8 visionary women out of a deep desire to contribute to the emancipation and well-being of women and girls of Ndokwa origin by birth or marriage spread in different parts of the world who are in need of support for an improved standard of living.

This is in line with The Sustainable Development Agenda by United Nation’s member states in 2015 which set a 2030 deadline for the advancement of gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls. Ndokwa Ladies League was incorporated in 2021 and registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a nonprofit, non-governmental organization. Lady Theresa Ananyi, a co-founder and renowned Tourism Practitioner is the pioneer President of this noble League.

Our vision is that all Ndokwa women become self–sustaining and remain well recognized in their communities.

Our aims and objectives

The principal aims and objectives of Ndokwa Ladies League include:

Help women advance in business and profession beyond the strictly reproductive roles of wives and mothers, – that used to limit them in the past.
To provide a unique forum for like minds of Ndokwa female progressive professionals and entrepreneurs to join the 8 founding members to advance the welfare of the girl child of Ndokwa origin and Ukwuani speaking areas of Delta state both at home, Nigeria and diaspora.
To promote the social, educational and economic development of Ndokwa women through offering services to humanity particularly those in dare need
To promote gender equality and empower women and girls for participation in public and political life.
To develop, nurture and maintain partnerships, alliance and linkages with institutions and individuals who identify with our vision, objectives and goals.

Membership And Qualifications

Membership is in two categories viz Adult and Youth; and open to women and girls both
locally, nationally and globally

Types

Youth Membership

Girls of Ndokwa origin either by birth, marriage or Ukwuani speaking area of Delta state who have attained the age of 18 years and possess a minimum qualification of BSc or equivalent.

Adult Membership

Women of Ndokwa origin either by birth, marriage or from other Ukwuani speaking areas of Delta state who have attained the age of 25 years and possess a minimum qualification of OND certificate or its equivalent
